<Track>v4.0.534

<Track> puts children onto the same row in the Remotion Studio timeline.
Use it to group related clips, such as subsequent scenes together.
Items on a <Track> may not overlap in time, otherwise an error is thrown.

Example

Place any content inside a <Track>.

Components with timing props will show up on the same row.
Set each clip's from and durationInFrames props to choose its position on the track.

This example uses intro.mp4 and outro.mp4 from your public/ folder.

MyVideo.tsx
import {Video} from '@remotion/media'; import {staticFile, Track} from 'remotion'; export const MyVideo = () => { return ( <Track name="Scenes"> <Video name="Intro" src={staticFile('intro.mp4')} durationInFrames={60} /> <Video name="Outro" src={staticFile('outro.mp4')} from={60} durationInFrames={90} /> </Track> ); };

Both clips appear on the row labeled "Scenes".

<Series> and <TransitionSeries>

The <Series> and <TransitionSeries> components inherit from <Track> automatically and put their content on the same row.

Overlapping clips

Clips on the same <Track> must not overlap in Studio.
If two clips need to be visible at the same time, put them in separate tracks.
For transitions between scenes, use <TransitionSeries>.

Layout

<Track> does not create a DOM element or change the layout of its children.

Props

<Track> supports the timing props, freeze, and the following props.

children?

Any content.

name?

The label of the track in the Studio timeline. Defaults to "Track".

width?

Overrides the width returned by useVideoConfig() inside the track. Defaults to the parent's width.
Does not set a CSS width, since <Track> has no container element.

height?

Overrides the height returned by useVideoConfig() inside the track. Defaults to the parent's height.
Does not set a CSS height, since <Track> has no container element.

showInTimeline?

Whether to show the track in the Studio timeline. Defaults to true.
Setting this to false also hides its clips from the timeline. It does not affect the rendered video.

hidden?

Hides the track's content from the rendered video. Defaults to false.
The track remains in the Studio timeline, where you can toggle its visibility with the eye icon.
