What the extension records​

When you start recording, the extension captures the visible content in the webpage area or viewport you select. This content may include personal information displayed on the page. The recording also contains capture dimensions, scale, timing, and pointer movement and click metadata for editing.

The extension does not request microphone or camera access.

Local processing and storage​

Recording and video encoding take place locally in your browser. The extension holds the recording in browser memory while you preview or export it. Downloaded files remain wherever you save them until you delete them.

Opening a recording in Remotion​

When you choose to open a recording in Remotion, the extension temporarily stores the recording and its metadata in local extension storage and opens remotion.dev/new or remotion.dev/convert. That page requests the recording directly from the extension using a single-use transfer token. The transfer takes place locally in your browser.

The extension removes the stored recording after the page acknowledges receipt. Transfer tokens expire after 10 minutes. If delivery is interrupted, local data may remain until the extension next starts or opens another recording after expiry, or until you clear its storage or uninstall it. Use of the Remotion website is also subject to the applicable Remotion Privacy Policy.

How the data is used​

The extension uses webpage content and interaction data to create your recording and, when you request it, make the recording available for editing or conversion in Remotion. It does not sell this data, use it for advertising, or use it to determine creditworthiness or for lending purposes.

The extension does not include its own analytics or send recordings to analytics or advertising services. It does not automatically upload recordings to Remotion servers.

Your controls​

You choose when recording starts and stops, what area is recorded, and whether to download a recording or open it in Remotion. You can remove the extension in Chrome at any time and delete downloaded recordings separately.
