Record a Video

After installing the extension, open a webpage and click the Remotion Canvas Capture icon in your browser toolbar.

Select an area of the page or capture the entire page. You can resize your selected area at any time.

Click the current zoom level to choose a scale factor. Higher scale factors may make the page more sluggish.

When you are ready, press the red record button and perform your interaction with the page.

Click the stop button to finish recording.

Save or edit your recording

You now have three options:

Download the video to disk. You can drag the downloaded video into any Remotion Studio to import it as a new composition with independently controllable, keyframeable video and cursor layers.

Open it in remotion.dev/convert to burn the cursor into the video at a scale of your choice. You can also apply a different cursor scale while the mouse button is held down.

Open it in remotion.new for the most control. The video and cursor become two independently controllable, keyframeable layers. You can scale and rotate the video, change the cursor position, or replace the cursor itself. Wrap the video in <HtmlInCanvas> to apply effects such as a vignette or progressive blur.
